This is a typical town in Italy. You find that in most places the buildings are right up against the street. In some places the road will make a jog to get between two buildings. One Sunday we came upon a long line of cars, backed up for 2 or 3 K. We thought there was an accident, but when we made our way to the front of the line, we found that where the road went between two buildings it was too narrow for two cars to pass. So the traffic had to take turns going in each direction! This was not uncommon, but was generally only a problem on weekends when there was more traffic on the roads.
