Llanelli and District Railway |
||
Region |
The Llanelli and District Railway Society (LDRS) was formed in 1987 with the aim of preserving the former Llanelly (the old anglicised spelling of Llanelli) and Mynydd Mawr Railway (LMMR), built on the alignment of the Carmarthenshire Tramroad, one of the oldest tramroads in the world. Unfortunately, the Society has now become almost defunct. Development of the
track, centred on the Cynheidre area, is now the ambition of the
Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway Company, and the WalesRails webpage on the
group can be accessed here.
