Formed in 1634, an original shire (or county), NORTHAMPTON after 1642.

Across the Chesapeake to Accomack in 1781, as Cornwallis was marching down the Charles City County/New Kent County neck of land OUR TYREE BOYS (Francis, John and Richard) were to be found on a list of Northampton CountyÕs dependent citizens; (?) sent by boat from across the bay.

Thomas Tyree will: Accomack County 10-13-1739 to 2-26-1739/40; to wife Joanna estate for life then between son William and dau. Anne. Wits. Lemuel Kendall, Robert Slocum, Esther Miles (see p. 4, Chap II).
