Families to pray for

We would like to introduce you to two families that we would like you to pray for. Knowing more about them will help you when praying on their behalf.

The Pahn Family

The first family is the Pahn family. Their English names are Roy & Jan, and they have a toddler, Joy. We also have a toddler, Hannah, and it was through the children that we met and are now good friends. (Click for a photo!) The Pahns are not Christians.

Kevin and Roy meet once a week to work through a pamphlet which introduces Christianity and the Bible. They use English to help Roy practice his English and also use Chinese to help Kevin with his Chinese. Roy's English is quite good and so the Lord has already helped remove the language barrier.

Sarah also gets many opportunities to show Christian love to the Pahns. Sometimes it is by watching Joy, sometimes it is by helping Jan with some western cooking (Click for a photo!) or by answering questions that they may have about Christian parenting.

Pray that the Lord would use us as his instruments in bringing the Pahns into the family of God. Pray that the Word would soften their hearts for Jesus to enter in.

The Lin Family

The second family we want to introduce you to is the Lin family. Marvin and Agnes Lin are Christians and members of our Taichung Gospel Center, an outreach center which started in 1990 The Lins are about 30 years old and are expecting their first baby in June. Agnes works as a nurse and Marvin works for a company that exports sporting goods to the USA.

Please pray for a safe pregnancy for mother and child. Pray for them to place their faith in God alone. Pray for them to remain steadfast in their faith in Jesus as their Savior. It is very hard to be a Christian in Taiwan, a land where only 2 percent are Christians. So difficult, that Marvin and Agnes have not yet had the courage to tell their parents that they are Christians. They fear what their parents' response will be.

Marvin has been a Christian for about 3 years and Agnes just more than a year. Pray for their faith to grow and to blossom.

Followup

The Pahns came to our first Mandarin service at the Taichung Gospel Center. Praise God for leading them to come and continue to pray for them as they learn more about Jesus.

The Lins had a healthy baby boy in June. (Click for a photo!) They have also made the big step of telling their parents about their Christian faith.
