A Bird's Eye View of Capitol Hill

A 3-D rendition of Capitol Hill, Washington DC

The drawing is carried out in the tradition of the great maps of the European capitals and captures the overall character of this unique neighborhood. I spent weeks canvasing the area with a sketchbook making sketches and notes on each block, and months at the drafting board producing the finished product. Represented are typical building styles and their various roof types, unique buildings, parks and plazas, and the ingenious pattern of grided and diagonal streets that contribute to the stunning views one gets while strolling the streets of Capitol Hill.

Framed for $150.00 (i do not ship these framed) -- handmade pewter clad wood frame, size is 25"x25"

DC Map

A watercolor map I originally did for DC Public Schools. The map locates schools with ESL programs. Intended to be a work of art rather than a practical map, it wasn't inportant for me to obey the convention of North at the top. This unusual orientation provides an unfamiliar view of the familiar street pattern.

Unframed for $80.00 + $10.00 s/h -print size 12.5"x18"

Framed and Matted for $90.00 (i do not ship these framed) - frame size is 16"x20"

This painting is included in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress.

Gothic Cathedral Study

My sepia pencil sketch showing the development of the plans of 5 English and 5 French Cathedrals on a timeline. Illuminated with vignette details of the buildings.

Available unframed for $60.00 + $10.00 s/h --print size 6"x16"

Framed and Matted for $70.00 (i do not ship these framed) --frame size 10"x20"

Eastern Market Poster

I designed and drew this piece by taking a measuring tape and observation skills to reproduce the wealth of detail at Eastern Market in a series of elevation and section views. The classic design of the poster is in keeping with the character of a 19th-century market.

Unframed for $15.00 + $5.00 s/h --print size 11" x22" - Shipped rolled in a tube
