son of Frank W. Pottmeyer and Jessie B. (Davidson) Pottmeyer;
born in Logansport, Indiana; orphaned at age 10; lived with maiden
aunts until moving to Oklahoma City in the Indian Territory at
age 17; worked his way up from printer's devil to owner and manager
of Prompt Printing Company.
