The First Hutchings Sealy National Bank
Hutchings-Sealy National Bank The 1896 First Hutchings-Sealy National Bank Building.  First Hutchings Sealy National Bank was founded in 1854 and was the first bank chartered in Texas.  Prior to Hutchings-Sealy, banks were illegal in Texas.  In 1982 the bank was purchased by NCNB Bank Texas, which today is Bank of America.  Today the bank building has been restored by Oilman and Island Native, George Mitchell.  It now houses an Itallian Restaurant, several stores and a Galveston Police Substation.
