I had always thought that no matter what happened to my son, I would know it before he could tell me, at least it seemed that way. Last summer, he had been through a terrible relationship, business problems, and a legal battle. Needless to say, my thoughts were always in a whirlwind because of his problems. It was especially bad on June 19 when he got a phone call from his former girlfriend. He was extremely upset and it seemed no matter what I said or how much I tried to comfort him, nothing helped.

I sat upwith him until after midnight talking and trying to help him make some sense of what she had said. I thought when he lay down on the couch and went to sleep that he was finally going to get some rest so I sat back in the recliner and dozed off. I awoke with a jolt at 1:20 a.m. and saw that he wasn't on the couch. I heard very soft music so I assumed he had turned the radio on and I went looking for him.

I looked all over the house, still hearing the music, but he wasn't there. I opened the front door and looked outside and the music stopped. I went back inside and I could still hear the music so I assumed he had turned the radio down so I wouldn't know he was outside, maybe he wanted to be alone. I returned to the recliner and noticed that the music was fading away, then I feel asleep.

I was awakened at 2:15 by the county police and was told that they had just found him. He had hanged himself in our front yard and was dead. The coroner placed the time of death at approximately l:30. I will always believe the music I heard was the music of angels coming for him.

He was such a beautiful person that tried to help many people. He believed we were put on this earth by a loving God and were supposed to help others to the best of our ability at any cost. I know most people believe that suicide is an unforgivable sin but he believed as long as you believe in God, you could be forgiven for anything. I know in my heart that he is at peace and is finally getting the rest he so deserved because I heard the music.
