We all imbue our most personal spaces (our homes, rooms or offices) with our own psychic energy. People who are sensitive to this energy can feel it when entering someone else's "space." Think about the different homes you go into and how they feel. Often there is a more diverse energy in a family or living room, an energy that reflects the family or all who share that room, and a more specific energy to each bedroom. The more private the space, the more "personal" it will feel to me. Try walking through your house and sensing the energy in each bedroom.
Consider how the energy differs between different spaces. The home you grew up in, for example, has an energy that you're very familiar with. Think of your favorite space as a child (Mine was my grandmother's house). Close your eyes and imagine entering this space or home, and smell the smells and recreate in your mind all the details of the walls, the floor, the furnishings. This place has a "feel" to it. That is its psychic energy.
On the other hand, think of a space where people live who do not love each other or get along well. (I think of my room freshman year of college...my room-mate and I were a miserable match). Think of how that space feels...probably very different from the favorite space.
I've noticed that plants are very sensitive to this psychic energy, and will thrive in homes or in rooms where the energy is loving. I used to believe that "peaceful" energy was what the plants loved, until my last child was born. She's now a toddler and the ruler of the house (she who has the strongest will, wins!). Things are no longer quiet and peaceful, but they are still happy. The energy in my home is strongly safe and nurturing, and my plants are thriving. When I first moved in some women friends (skilled energy workers) and I energetically "cleansed" the house and property, sealed it against malevolent energy, and then filled it with harmonious and loving energy. The ritual we used was beautiful, and the house has felt great ever since.
