Spirit and the Clock

This story is about a friend of mine.  One day when I was at her house I admired a clock that she had. I noticed the clock because it chimed every 1/2 hour. Velma told me this story about the clock.

It belonged to her grandmother, and Grandma had passed on. Velma's daughter admired the clock and sent it in to be repaired. A year went by and finally the clock was ready to be picked up. Her daughter was broke at the time and asked Velma to pay for the repairs and keep the clock until she could repay her. Well, years went by and the clock stopped again, they both just forgot about it.

About 2 years ago, Velmas daughter died, leaving Velma her 15 year old son to raise. The boy had just lost his father the year before. This was very hard on the boy, and he started failing in school. One day Velma stood looking at the clock and said "What am I going to do with this boy?"  Suddenly the clock started chiming and working again!

They set the time on the clock, but it stopped again. Velma's grandson settled down some until he got a car. He started messing up again,  and Velma in frustration once again talked to the clock, and again the clock started running and chiming. This time they did not try to set the time on the clock, they just left it alone.Well the clock still chimes, and her grandson is now attending colledge .
