Online Soulmate

All my life, I had gone without love.  It seemed I was the only person in my schools and in my family that had gone at least 20 years without experiencing the joy of a significant other. I have always been a strong believer in reincarnation, and always told myself that this was related to why I had yet to find love.  I've always been a helpless romantic, and never believed true love could live outside my romance novels, nor did I believe any longer that I had a soulmate. I figured I would have met "him" before the time this story takes place.

I had, however, always had dreams of a certain man. The story lines changed, but the man stayed the same. He had brown hair, blue eyes, and made me feel so warm inside that I would cry when I woke up and discovered it was just a dream.

One night, I was online chatting (this was my only real outlet to the outside, I'm very shy and isolated), and a guy with the screen name "crazy musician" caught my eye. I'd been playing guitar for a while, and was happy to converse with a fellow musician. As I was chatting with him, the image of the man in my dreams came to mind, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake it. I decided to test the image and humor myself by asking him questions pertaining to my image. I would ask simple questions like, do you own a grey baseball cap with white lettering on it?  Is there a picture frame next to your couch with a picture of a girl in it?  Does your couch have brown and orange colors in it (it was 70's looking)?  Do you drive this kind of car?

For the next hour every question I would ask, he would answer yes. It scared both of us. We ended up talking on the phone that night for at least 2 hours, and we met face to face 5 days later. He was the man in my dreams! I never thought it possible, and I thought it was just a figment of my imagination, but I was proven wrong. We got engaged 2 months later.

Since we are both big believers in reincarnation, and we both had the same ideas of where we've been (with each other), I decided to regress him. He went back to our most recent life, back into Germany during WW2. As he would talk and be setting the scene, I would finish it for him. In that life, he had been a German soldier, and I had been a Polish Jew that had moved to Germany. Needless to say, he went off to war, promised he'd be back...and I ended up being dragged to Auschwitz and killed.  So we never were able to finish what we started. Since then we've discovered we've been together in different lives since the 13th century, and been married in just about every life.

If I had never been online, I would never have met my soulmate. Because of our distance, there's no way we would've met otherwise. It's like something out of a fairy tale, and I now can truly believe there is someone out there for everyone.
