The ad read, "Large blond woman enjoys walks on the beach, quiet candlelit dinners and romance." It was a good ad and drew alot of response, the only thing is I didn't write it. In 1973, I was working as a live-in nurses aide at an ACLF Home. My boss, Doris, was always urging me to date, saying I was a pretty woman and full of love. It was true that I was full of love. I enjoyed my patients and taking care of them, but thought that I was not ready for a relationship.
One March night, I had a dream of a beautiful woman sitting in front of a church organ. She had the deepest red hair down to the middle of her back. She turned to me and said to write the ad as worded above, and then to send it to 7-11's date book. Upon waking, I wrote the ad down and left the paper by my bed. Doris, bless her heart, was cleaning the rooms and found my paper. She asked if I had written it, and I said yes, but not to send it as it was just a note from a dream. I left it at that.
Three nights later, I had another dream about the lovely woman with red hair. This time she simply said "Respond only to the type written letter." During my work day, I told Doris of my dream of the woman, and she laughed and said she had mailed the ad to 7-11's date book when she saw it at the store. I should have been angry, but I was excited, for I wondered if Spirit was guiding me, or if I was just hoping it was so.
Two weeks passed before I received a large envelope with 65 letters. Only one was type written. It read in part, "Hello my name is Jim Kelly. I too would like quiet walks on the beach. Has been a while since I was in a relationship." I called him and we talked for three weeks on the phone. Doris said she would fire me if I didn't go out with him.
We met at Joyland, a country-western dance hall. Jim was handsome, broad hairy chest, mustache and dreamy brown eyes. I fell in love that night, thanking Spirit for this person. Our relationship evolved quickly, and we decided to go deeper with our romance and moved in together. One night we were going through old picture albums and as I turned to the fourth page, there was the Woman in My Dream, sitting at the Organ. I became very excited, telling Jim this is the woman I saw. His eyes filled with tears as he told me she was his late wife, who had died of cancer several years back. He had had a dream he finally confided, in which he was told to answer only an ad written like mine, but he hadn't had a face to go with the voice in the dream. We have been together for more than 25 years now. We are both ministers and have a wonderful spirit led life.
