My true story is still ongoing as it involves the house we bought five years ago and still reside in. We don't don't know the exact date it was built but it is at least 100 years old and located in a small Boston suburb known for its historical battles and past.
My first experience occurred just a few weeks after we moved in when down in the kitchen at 5 a.m. a male's voice from behind me loudly stated "Hello." I turned around to see who was in my kitchen, but saw no one. Since then we've had lots of strange occurrences in our home, some my skeptic husband could write off to "electrical wiring" and some he just refuses to discuss (no logical explanation). For example, the lights will turn on and off at their own will for weeks at a time, then as suddenly as it began it stops. The TV volume will go up and down on its own. The TV will turn off while we are watching it. We hear the sounds of doors slamming when no doors are actually slamming, loud banging in the middle of the night, and distant sounds of a baby crying. There are hot-to-the-touch spots in the house.
While we're at work we bolt-lock our dog in the kitchen. For months he would be let out to roam around the house while we were away, then relocked in the kitchen before we arrived home. The evidence was dumpings on the dining room floor. Also, the dog would bark at the door leading to the dining room all the time and not go near it for a year or so.
We've been renovating the house slowly and have had two kids now. My oldest daughter, who is three years old, sees a "witch" sitting with her on her bed with spooky fingers. She has suffered some horrible screaming sessions (so bad I had to consult with a doctor) from a pattern of night wakings. She insisted that someone would tap and shake her awake at night but when she looked to see if it might be me, nobody was there. During this very tough time for her I would lay down with her and I would feel someone sit down on the side of the bed near my foot. The mattress would sink with the weight, yet I could see no one there. This happened several times during the two week long intense ordeal.
The garbage basket from the hall was thrown down the stairs and almost hit my skeptical husband in the head . It was heavy with soiled diapers at the time and landed with a loud boom. Twice this past winter while my husband and I were sleeping the contents resting on his nightstand were hurled across the room (clock radio, baby monitor etc...).
I've now begun to sense dark, dense, almost solid areas in one of the bedrooms at night that move around the room. I actually think I'm going to walk into a wall. (I see these because I feed my baby two to three times a night). The phenomena seem to come and go. Sometimes months will go by uneventfully and then we'll be bombarded for a solid two weeks and then silence again.
I hope to gather the nerve one day to actually have someone come to my house and help explain the occurrences and hopefully convince my left-brained husband that something or someone not of our family lives with us.
