INTRODUCTION TO L.I.F.T.

The Long Island Family Therapists (L.I.F.T.) is an organization composed of mature, experienced professionals who have advanced training in the field of Individual, Couple, Sex, Group, and Family Therapy. All practitioners hold at least a Master's degree in their field of specialization and are accredited by their professional credentialing organization, such as The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, The American Psychological Association, or The National Association of Social Work.

The theoretical approach to therapy is basically Brief Short Term Solution Focused Therapy based in Social Constructionism or what is called The Narrative View. Other methods of therapy are also available.

L.I.F.T., located in Long Island, New York, is an Institute for the treatment of individual, couple, and family problems of all kinds. Its purpose is to establish a therapeutic environment that mobilizes the competencies and resources of persons in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment.

A team strategy for case consultation is utilized. Services are customized to each client's situation. When there is client agreement, therapeutic case consultations are available to referring medical, legal, mental health, and school personnel.

This therapy is provided In Person and in some cases can be provided by E-Mail .

Services are available in English and Spanish.
