Bishops and Clerks Lighthouse
Nantucket Sound off Hyannis, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
This lighthouse no longer exists. The National Park Service's light
station inventory states that Bishops and Clerks was built in 1858
and demolished in 1952, when it was determined to be unsound structurally.
As of 1994, there was a 30-foot white pyramidal slatted wood daybeacon
at the site. [source: 1994 Inventory of Historic Light Stations,

Service, Appendix B: Light Station Sites.]
Postcard trading on the Internet produced this gem, thanks to Helen
Karagozian of Woodland Hills, California. This came from an LA-area
flea market! The postcard has a 1913 Hyannis postmark and was mailed
to Holland, Michigan. Now it resides in Frankfort, Kentucky. That
1-cent stamp has carried it a long way so far.
Helen and I have been e-mail pen pals and have traded postcards since
August 1995.
