FoxPro Resources

FoxPro Resources is a website devoted to serving the needs of all users of FPD/FPW 2.x. All the information provided on these pages will apply to both the DOS and Windows versions of FoxPro, unless otherwise noted. Although there were also Mac and UNIX versions of FoxPro, no specific information on those platforms is available on this site. Throughout these pages, I use the term "FoxPro" to mean any version prior to 3.0. FoxPro 3.0 was released in June 1995, and was renamed "Visual FoxPro" (VFP). A complete listing of all FoxPro 2.x DOS and Windows releases is available on the FoxPro History page.

Whether you're just learning FoxPro or have years of experience using it, you will certainly be able to find something useful on this site. From upgrades and patches, to bug fixes and workarounds, you'll find a solution to virtually every FoxPro problem known to exist. Now that Microsoft has officially discontinued support for FoxPro, it is up to the FoxPro community to support itself (something this community has always been quite good at). This web site was established to ensure that there will always be a source of accurate information - both current and historical - for those who have an interest in FoxPro 2.x.

FoxPro History
A timeline showing the evolution of FoxPro -- from its early beginning as a "dBase wanna-be", through its rise to the very top of the XBase market (IMHO).

Survival Guide
The FoxPro Survival Guide offers links to all official upgrades and patches, as well as remedies for most known FoxPro application errors. There is also information concerning FoxPro's Y2K issues, along with listings of the known bugs in each version of FoxPro.

Functions & Procedures
A small collection of utilities from my own FoxPro toolbox. Source code is included, so you are free to take all my bugs out, and replace them with your own <g>.

FoxPro Library
A comprehensive collection of FoxPro documents and papers. From basic database design, to foundation READs, to Windows screen fonts, there is information for every level of FoxPro developer in the FoxPro Library.

Other Stuff
More information about the website, the webmaster, whatever.
