SCOTT, BAPTIST H., 1st Sergeant/2nd Liutentant. Company C. Mustered age 25, September 16, 1861 - September 16, 1863. During the Battle of Williamsburg, was sent by Major Gazzam forward to reconnoiter. The discovered an officer's horse, fully caparisoned, evidently only recently deserted by its rider, standing a short distance in front of Fort magruder. While they were capturing the horse (first regimental trophy of the war), other regiments captured the fort.

SEATON, ROBERT M., Private, Company I. Mustered December 16, 1861. Wounded In Action May 31, 1862, during the Battle of Fair Oaks, Seven Pines, Virginia. Captured by Confederate JEB Stuart's Calvary June 14, 1862. While mounted on a mule (either before or after capture), was thrown resulting in fracture of several ribs; remained a few weeks in Confederate prison; later paroled and exchanged returning to Company I. Owing to medical condition remained at Suffolk, Virginia when the Regiment went to North Carolina. Returned to Regiment sometime after the Regiment was in place at Plymouth, North Carolina. In mid April 1864, was detailed to build a fence around the Regimental hospital. While doing so, he cut his foot and was hospitalized. Captured while in hospital in Plymouth, North Carolina April 20, 1864. He never fired a shot; nor shot at; upwards forty years of age; poorly built. Died July 8 (9), 1864, and buried Andersonville Code 13057.

STEVENS, JESSE G., Private, Company G. Mustered January 10, 1862. Was ill and excused from duty when the Regiment bivouacked on Charles City Road, Virginia at "Blacksmith Shop." When orders came to break camp, he asked for an ambulance from the Regiment, but the Regimental Surgeon refused the request. While his company was on picket duty, he had to man a post by himself. He was found June 28, 1862, at White Oak Swamp, Virginia dead, by a tree leaving a widow and several children.

Company muster roll January/February 1863, deserter absent sick since September 16, 1861; hear through reliable authority that he joined an artillery company. When the Regiment broke camp September 1862, Stiffey was lying seriously ill in camp. His brother Jacob and Robert Bash carried from his tent to the hospital. He was sent to Governor's Island, New York, then transferred to Fort Hamilton Hospital where he recovered. He was transferred to Company E, 5th Artillery Regiment, USA. Served in Wilderness, Spottsylvania, Cold Harbor, Siege Petersburg, Sailor's Creek, Surrender Lee's Army.

Was at Plymouth, North Carolina when the attack was made, but left to bring up some stores. Was prevented from returning due to success of the ram Albemarle."
