This page is a test for Flamenco Audio (using the TrueSpeech player). You can download the TrueSpeech player (it's free) from http://www.dspg.com/ , if you don't already have it. Ask your service how to install it in your browser. I will be adding more examples as time goes on (and I get better at this)........
The files have an extension of *.wav or *.tsp

There files have been recorded using TrueSpeech. You can download the player from: http://www.dspg.com/ if your browser doesn't already support it. For further information, check the Audio ReadMe page. If the .tsp version doesn't work, try the .wav version....
Test file: Basic Columbianas Chording Compas (.wav), (.tsp)
For an explanation of the rhythmic structures used for Flamenco in the example below, study the Compas Analysis and its Addendum.
For further study in the Flamenco Guitar, see our Academy Brochure.

Note: Practice tapes in the Flamenco forms are now or will be available shortly. They will consist of rhythm guitar on track A and rhythm accompaniment on track B, so that you can mix and match in monoaural or stereo as you like. They will be useful for guitarists and dancers to practice the forms. Each tape will include the relevant section describing the form from the Compas Analysis and/or Addendum. Audio quality is much better than TrueSpeech, of course.....
Prices (subject to change) are 20$ + $10 overseas for each tape.
If interest permits I will be producing custom practice tapes (custom sequences of flamenco sections), but if you're interested, make sure you understand the Compas Analysis so we'll be speaking the same language regarding the various rhythms.
Note: All Chord Progressions calculated relative to the Capo (Cejilla).

The traditional Sevillanas is performed in 6/8 against an underlying 3/4 meter (Orchestral and modern versions emphasize 6/8 compas). The basic compas is can be counted as:
Basic Sevillanas Compas (.wav), (.tsp) (E7 -> Am)
The Sevillanas is highly structured (see the Compas Analysis and Addendum); the guitar usually begins on count 2, with other participants joining in with palmas as soon as they synchronize with the compas. After a relatively arbitrary number of chording compases (usually 3), the singer begins with a preview of the verse (copla) called the salida, which is two compases long followed by a chording compas:
The Salida por Sevillanas (.wav), (.tsp)
The Salida is followed by three repetitions of the copla; the first two consist of five measures of melody followed by a chording compas:
The Copla por Sevillanas (.wav), (.tsp)
The final copla of Sevillanas ends abruptly on count 3 of the fifth measure:
Final Sevillas Copla (.wav), (.tsp)
Here is an example of the complete Sevillanas:
Four Sevillanas form a group. At the end of the group, dancers often change partners to begin again.
