Heavens
We have been very concerned of late
That man (an accomplice of blind fate)
So very, very, very, very clever is he
Has blasted Heaven into Eternity!
How far out must one be
In the black depths of infinity
To prove there is nothing but utter loss
With our hearts welded to an atomic cross?
Sand and water, grass and sun,
These be our bodies 'til life be done
Elves and fairies and children at play
These be our hearts from day to day.
